The grape variety has found its home in New Zealand, and especially in the Marlborough region, where it was first planted in 1973. Insight knows how to make a wonderfully elegant Sauvignon Blanc with this grape variety. The grapes for this Sauvignon Blanc come from a single vineyard in the Waihopai Valley in Marlborough's Southern Valley sub-region. The area's cool but dry climate and soils visibly richer in clay give the land potential for good aromatic whites and Pinot Noir, as well as delicate Sauvignon Blancs. The scent has impressions of passion fruit, gooseberry, melon and green apples. But the scent is so seductive, what a treat! The taste is refined and fresh of this Insight Sauvignon Blanc, a beautiful interplay between citrus fruit and passion fruit. But also nuances of apple, freshly mown grass and something of grapefruit make this wine completely finished from front to back. This Insight wine is made by Eveline Fraser, former head winemaker of Cloudy Bay. The bottles will be shipped to you in a protective packaging designed to prevent damage.
