Set of six Russian-made nesting hedgehog ashtrays
After an original design in brass by Walter Bosse, this pewter ashtray set was used by Russian airline Aeroflot as a souvenir gift during the late 1950s. Six concave hedgehog vessels nest inside each other from largest to smallest, forming a complete hedgehog figurine when fully stacked. The “baby” top piece is simple decorative, with a row of spines to round out the Silhouette. The surface of each piece is gently incised to mimic fur. Stamped “EUM” on underside.
