We find fruity aromas of currant and raspberry, scents of violet, spicy hints of liquorice and anise, and balsamic notes of mint. When tasted, the body is medium, with a dense and elegant tannic texture. The references to red fruit are definitely perceptible during the sip, with good freshness and flavor that accompany us towards a finish of good persistence and great finesse. A red that represents the best business card for those approaching the wines of the Bartolo Mascarello winery for the first time. This important Nebbiolo reflects the canons of the purest Piedmontese tradition in making good wine. The best bunches from the different Nebbiolo vines in different areas are carefully selected and harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks with on average short macerations and extractions to leave all the fragrance of the aromas of the grapes. A 9-month refinement in large oak barrels, always following traditional dictates, gives the wine balance and roundness. Nebbiolo Mascarello, unlike its older brother Barolo, expresses the potential of Nebbiolo on fresher and younger notes, favoring the fruity and floral notes of this versatile vine. A wine that we can define as gastronomic, capable of pairing well with almost any meat, mushroom and truffle course in a dinner.
