Biography:

Lauri Laine, born in 1946 in Helsinki, is a Finnish painter based in Rome. Laine received his art education at the The School of the Fine Arts Academy of Finland. During the decade of 80s, Laine taught at the Institute of Arts Lahti, Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki and The University of Art and Design in Helsinki, where he lectured until 1998. Already critically acclaimed in Scandinavia, Laine came to the international recognition by participation at the São Paulo Biennial.
