A very large Inuit Tupilak with a ghost like mask above a smaller mask on the front side and a polar bear and whale backside. It is carved from Antlers in eastern Greenland The Tupilak stands ca. 32.7 cm tall and was personally acquired from a private collection in Copenhagen, Denmark A Tupilak is a mythical creature from the traditional Greenlandic mythology They are used for spiritual guidance, protection and to fight off evil spirits They are made from different materials such as antlers, whale bone, wood, feathers and hide Condition - Good with marks and blemishes commensurate with age The polar bear missing a corner tooth Please see the photos This lot will be carefully packed and sent by registered and insured mail. #ttapr
