- The Saint-Émilion appellation is located in Libournais, on the right bank of the Dordogne, and extends over nine producing communes: Saint-Émilion, Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, Saint-Hippolyte, Saint-Étienne-de -Lisse, Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, Saint-Pey-d'Armens, Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, Vignonet, and part of the commune of Libourne. Its vineyard covering 1,058 hectares has been classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO.
- Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wines are produced under slightly tighter production restrictions than regular Saint-Emilion wines. As with other Grand Cru appellations, the intention behind this is to improve the quality, and to distinguish the area's finer wines from the more everyday wines.

Implanted on a sand-lime soil, merlot vines (98%) are very well exposed on the hillside. This wine has an intense purple color, with aromas of blueberry, undergrowth, coffee and cocoa. The tannins, robust in attack, even alive, evolve happily with more sweetness and elegance, and the mouth ends in a very good balance.
