Ken Domon Works Domon Ken Sogensha/1957/Japanese/260*355*8 Gendai Nihon Shashin Zenshu 2: Works of Ken Domon," a collection of works by Ken Domon, who, along with Ihei Kimura, is considered one of the leading Japanese photographers of the 20th century. Domon Ken is not only one of the best journalists who pursued realism, but also a talented photographer who has created many masterpieces by demonstrating his outstanding talent for depicting temples, Buddhist statues, and other aspects of traditional Japanese culture. He was also a longtime member of the judging committee for the "Gekijo" (monthly contest), a contest in which professional and amateur photographers submitted their work to hone their skills in the camera magazines that were essential to the promotion of news and art photography in Japan, and he devoted himself to mentoring younger photographers. This book is the second issue of the "Complete Collection of Modern Japanese Photography" (9 issues) published by Sogensha in the late 1950s. Of the nine issues, only three are compiled as collections of works by a single photographer: Ihei Kimura (No. 1), Ken Domon (No. 2), and Hiroshi Hamaya (No. 3).
