Gaja is an Italian wine producer based in Barbaresco, in the Langhe area of Piedmont. The roots of the company lie in the production of Barbaresco. Since the 1980s, the company has expanded its range of wines from other areas of Piedmont and Tuscany and now also produces Barolo, Brunello di Montalcino and so-called Super Tuscans. The current owner and president, Angelo Gaja, is known to have had a great influence on wine production throughout Italy with his oenological and economic methods.
