Moscow and Leningrad; State Art Publishers, 1939. Facsimile of the Russian log book: 26x20,5 cm. 32 pp. Publisher's red cloth with printed paper-label on front board & the log book in English translation: 30, (1, 1 blank) pp. + (36, 4 blanks) pp. + folding map, and with a prospectus for the book loosely inserted. Original printed wrappers. Housed in a brown cloth portfolio. The portfolio is slightly worn at extremities. The oversized wrappers on the English volume is a little creased in margins. Front wrapper has a few light marks in red chalk, and rear wrapper is a bit toned. A fine copy. The facsimile was published as a celebration of the first flight via the North Pole, June 18-20, 1937. The English translation also contains a preface by one of the three pilots, Alexander Belyakov, photos and a map. Book design by Russian graphic artist, typographer and printer Solomon Telingater (1903-1967).
