Remarkable landscape painting - Hibino Hakei日比野白圭(1825-1914) - Giappone - Tardo periodo Edo - periodo Meiji
Artist: Hibino Hakei日比野白圭(1825-1914), Owari clan samurai. He first studied painting with Keiho Takeda, then entered the school of Keizan Suzumura, and then studied the Tosa school under Takamasa Mori, but not only mastered the art but also became the leader of various schools. He was a central artist in the Owari art world during the Meiji period, and studied the Tosa school and created his own unique style by incorporating various schools. Although he participated in the modern art world, receiving a medal at the first National Painting Exhibition in 1898 and a medal at the second National Painting Exhibition in 1899, he was an honest and greedy person. Rather, he created paintings around his hometown, and perhaps because of this, he was blessed with many disciples. On Mt. Yagoto, a monument to Hakukei Hibino Sensei was erected by his disciples.
