WONDERFUL, HIGHLY IMPRESSIVE BOOK by German photographer Timm Rautert - about the Amish and the Hutterites he visited in 1974 and in 1978. VERY BEAUTIFUL, VERY SENSITIVE PHOTOS - BRILLIANT LAYOUT. Have a look at the pictures and you will understand what i mean. Complete with the bellyband. New, mint, unread; still originally shrink-wrapped in publisher`s plastic foil. IF YOU WIN MORE THAN 1 OF MY BOOKS IN THIS AUCTION, YOU WILL PAY ONLY 1 X SHIPPING COSTS - WORLDWIDE. "In 1974 the young Timm Rautert travelled to Pennsylvania to photograph those who normally don`t allow themselves to be photographed: the Amish, a group of Anabaptist Protestant communities. Four years later Rautert returned to America, this time to the Hutterites who live so stringently by the Ten Commandments and the bible`s restrictions on images that they have their identity cards issued without photographs. Both these two series were influential on Rautert`s later work and No Photographing brings them together for the first time." Steidl, Gottingen. 2011. First English edition, first printing. The English edition was published same time with same content, size and layout like the German edition. Clothbound hardcover with bellyband. 220 x 260 mm. 156 pages. Photos: Timm Rautert. Text in English. Great photobook - in perfect condition. Timm Rautert, born in Tuchola in 1941, studied photography under Otto Steinert at the Folkwang School of Design in Essen from 1966 to 1971. Among his recent book projects are: Gehäuse des Unsichtbaren (1992); Eigenes Leben (1994); Koordinaten (2000); Arbeiten (2000), and Deutsche in Uniform (2007). Rautert has worked since 1993 as professor of photography at the "Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst" in Leipzig.
