Alessi - Michel Boucquillon & Donia Maaoui - Ciotola - ''Barket'' - Acciaio inossidabile 18/10

Designed by Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui, the Bark collection was inaugurated in 2015. The designers drew their inspiration from their home, Casa Boucquillon: it is a place for experimentation, meditation and work where they can live in synch with nature. The perforated pattern of this ''Barket'' bowl recalls the bark on the trees that surround the house. The result is a strongly poetic object, either in shape or in function, in continuous and harmonious dialogue with nature. Produced at the company's factory in Crusinallo, Omegna, this round basket demonstrates Alessi’s skill in processing steel. Through various processing stages, metal sheet is cut, laser perforated, bent and finally welded to obtain the organic and sinuous shape desired by the designers. Unrivalled manufacturing expertise is needed to use steel to create an object on to which organic and natural memory can been impressed. This ''Barket'' Basket is in new condition and never been used. Delivered with original packaging. The black ''Alessi'' brand at the middle of the basket is a sticker that can be removed. Michel Boucquillon & Donia Maaoui: Born in Belgium in 1962. In 1988 he won the competition of the chamber of European Parliament in Brussels which signed the beginning of his Architectural and Design career. In ‘2000, he opened a new workshop dedicated to Industrial Design and experimental Architecture in Lucca - Tuscany in his "CASA BOUCQUILLON", extremely experimental place of exploration, meditation, live and work. Michel actually works for the world's most famous International Design companies: Artemide, Antonio Lupi, Ferragamo, Serralunga. His work is present in several Museums and got many of the main international Awards, recently: Menzione d’Onore Compasso d’Oro 2011, Good Design Award 2008, Design Plus 2006. Donia Maaoui, Michel’s wife and an architect herself, works alongside her husband on some of the Alessi and Martinelliluce projects, although her principal occupation is cast bronze sculpture and painting.
