Sandy Denny
Real Name: Alexandra Elene Maclean Denny
British singer, songwriter and musician who had two spells with Fairport Convention, a brief spell with Fotheringay, also singer in Strawbs and released a number of solo albums. She also guested on Led Zeppelin's fourth album.
Born: 6 Jan 1947 at the Nelson Hospital in Wimbledon, Surrey (later became part of London) England.
Died: 21 Apr 1978 in England from a cerebral haemorrhage.
Fotheringay
Folk rock quintet formed in 1970 by Sandy Denny after she left Fairport Convention, the group produced only one LP Fotheringay on Island Records before disbanding in 1971.
