Bourgogne “Retour des Flanders” From 1384 to 1477, thanks to the union of Philip the Bold and Marguerite of Flanders, Burgundy and Flanders have a common history, made of economic and artistic splendor, including the presence of the greatest artists of Flanders at the Court of Burgundy. With this bottle, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, whose ancestors were from Flanders, wanted to remember this glorious past. This Burgundy comes from a selection of Chardonnay from the best terroirs of Burgundy. The Burgundy appellation produces wines with a nose of white fruits (apple, pear, etc.), white flowers (acacia, etc.), and sometimes honey and butter. On the palate, the wines are fresh with a beautiful magnitude. The harvest began at the end of August in southern Burgundy after early flowering and a hot, dry summer. The Chardonnays have a beautiful aromatic fullness. 2015 is a great vintage. Manual harvest, alcoholic fermentation at 20°C, malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vats for 2/3 and in wine barrels for 1/3 then clarification before bottling. Afterwards these bottles have been aged in the cellars by Maison Regnard to reach their optimal potential. Tasting notes: Pale color with green highlights. Nose with notes of white fruits enhanced by smoky aromas. Clean and straight attack. Round and oily mouth ending with a fresh and mineral finish.
