Viking Era Bronze Mjölnir - Hammer Pendant - Rare and Wearable!
Circa 10th-11th century AD
This bronze amulet is crafted in the shape of a hammer, Mjölnir, the legendary weapon of the Norse god Thor. Both faces of the amulet are adorned with multiple stamped squares and circles, each containing a raised dot within. It features a suspension loop for attachment to a chain or cord.
Mjölnir is a legendary hammer wielded by the Norse god Thor in Norse mythology. The name "Mjölnir" translates to "crusher" or "grinder" and is often depicted as a fearsome weapon capable of tremendous power and destruction. According to Norse mythology, Mjölnir was forged by the dwarven brothers Sindri and Brokkr, who crafted it at the request of the trickster god Loki as part of a bet with the other gods. Mjölnir is renowned for its ability to return to Thor's hand when thrown and for its ability to summon lightning, making it a symbol of thunder and protection.

Visualizza traduzioneThe weight is 5.3 not 6.2 gr. The hole in the center was clearly drilled by modern tools. The age is more than questionable. This is easy to recognize, even for laymen. Fraud or sloppiness? Caution!
