2 antique ceramic Marzi & Remy Stein beer jar and beer mug.
1. Very beautiful jug by Marzi & Remy of Germany, with a Höhr stamp underneath.
Colour cobalt beige brown Westwald Stein with salt glaze.
The beer jug has 4 bands with relief imagery:
- the top band features 3 medallions featuring people.
- a stylized flower border
- depiction of a medieval feast.
- below “lion” heads with leaf decoration.
- numbered 886/ K: the number of the mould used between 1880 and 1935.
-1 ½ L: capacity. Rather a rare size for Marzi & Remy.
Above the handle there is a hole for the attachment of a pewter lid.
The lid has never been attached.
The handle once broke, but this has been almost seamlessly reattached.
Size: 24.5 cm (h) x 14 cm, widest part. Weight: 1.000 kg
2. A beautiful relief decorated beer mug with Höhr stamp.
A beautiful scene of drinking brethren and text.
"Hätt Adam Bayrisch bier besessen, Hat den apfel nicht gegessen."
Features Marzi & Remy hallmark used between 1880 and 1964.
3154/8: the mould number Made in West Germany.

Above the handle there is a hole for the attachment of a pewter lid. The lid was never attached.
Undamaged. In perfect conditon. Size: 19.5 h. x 12 cm widest point. Weight: 0.895 kg.
