The guitar here presented was produced in Japan in 1989 and imported by Fender as idea of product competing for the Ibanez of that time.
Alder body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard composed of 22 frets that make this guitar lightweight (just over 4 kilograms) and easy to handle.
It has a Fender American Standard tremolo, Gotoh auto-locking mechanics, active pickup with a 3 position switch, single-action truss rod. Volume and tone potentiometer.
The neck is very comfortable. It is small with a D profile that allows also for those with short fingers to cover the entire fretboard with agility. Anyway a fair accuracy is necessary as the strings, that are so close together, can cause some flaws, especially in arpeggios
The 3-way switch, indicated by a red LED, lead to an operation of the pickup in many modalities:
Single coil - fine and strong sound - not too nasal
humbucker - With a stronger and serious sound. In this mode the guitar has more personality, and is more aggressive.
Humbucker with overdrive - the idea was to enliven a clean single-channel with an overdrive not too invasive. Combined ...
