A Medieval Bronze Signet Ring with Celestial Motifs, 12th - 15th Century A.D.

Bronze signet ring with a large oval bezel engraved with a central sun or solar wheel surrounded by crescent moons and stars. The shoulders show incised linear decoration. The piece has a dark, stable patina typical of excavated medieval bronzes.
Rings with celestial and astrological symbols were popular during the Middle Ages, used both as personal seals and as protective amulets related to astrology and magic.
