“Millennium Edition”は、20世紀の最終四半期にBodegas Riojanasが生産した極めて優れたヴィンテージのいくつかを極めて限定的に集めたコレクションでした。最も優れた年の中でも最高の樽のみが選別され、他の製品と分けて熟成されました。彼らの熟成期間は通常の時期を数年上回って延長されました。ご愛顧のお客様のみに提供され、わずか数百本が販売されました。

このワインは当初、1986年2月に通常の Reserva として瓶詰めされる予定でした。しかし、テイスティングの選別を経て、最高の樽を取り分け、さらに3年間熟成されました。合計で7年半を樽熟成に費やし、1990年に樽から直接、無濾過で手作業ボトル詰めされました。

その瓶はセニセロ村の歴史的な地下室に保管され、2000年に Millennium Edition として発売されるまで保存されました。現在の Rioja Regulatory Board の分類では、このワインは Gran Reserva に該当します。
