「The Grey Canal」は、スペインを拠点とする現代美術家アウレルの作品で、マドリード大学コンプルトゥセンテ校(2005–2010)で美術の学位を取得しています。アーティストのキャリアはスペインとイタリアで顕著であり、 Museo Cívico Giovanni Fattori や Centro Cultural Casa de Vacas などの機関での展示歴があります。彼女の作品はBMW Painting AwardやCombat Prizeのファイナリストに選ばれるなど評価を受けており、マドリード自治州のYoung Creators Awardや欧州アートディレクターズクラブからの栄誉といった受賞歴もあります。この作品は、2022年に発表されたEthreal Natureプロジェクトの一部です。
The Grey Channel belongs to the serie Ethereal Nature, a project composed of open, undefined, and intangible landscapes, fictional landscapes that arise from the subconscious of an idealization of nature. The title is merely symbolic, a small hint or a possible reading, since it is the process itself that defines the path to be taken, the use of spontaneity, the accidental, or the unexpected to form a plastic language of identity.
The signature, which you will find on the lower left side of the painting, is the stamp of a scar that the artist herself has had on her forehead since she was a baby and that has become part of her identity
