4世紀〜10世紀頃の後期ローマ帝国〜初期ビザンツ帝国〜初期イスラム時代の青銅製オイルランプ
長くとがった三角形の珍しい青銅製オイルランプで、くぼんだ芯受け溝、中央の注入口を放射状に広がる装飾文様が取り囲み、後部にはアーチ状の取っ手が付く。 本体には細密に刻まれた幾何文様と直線的な縁が施されており、後期ローマ帝国期と初期ビザンツ期の洗練された金属加工技術を示している。 表面には豊かな濃い茶褐色のパティナと鉱物沈着の痕、そして時代を感じさせる使用・埋蔵の痕が見られ、かなりの Antiquity を物語っている。
この種の青銅ランプはローマ世界からビザンツ文明へ移行する東地中海一帯で広く使用され、家庭用および教会用途の両方に供された。 優雅な比例、緻密な装飾、優れた保存状態の組み合わせは、初期ビザンツ期の照明器具として特に魅力的な例であり、古典的な職人技が後期古代へと連続していたことを示す驚くべき証左である。
