Description from the seller
写真集「The Americans」ロバート・フランク(2022)
The book "The Americans" is a true "poem in images" that Robert Frank dedicated to the American street and its new and disconsolate epic. It is a reportage that, like few others, truly marked an era, becoming for generations of photographers the primary reference for photography, for travel, for exploration. It is 1955 and a young European photographer, Robert Frank, received a grant from the Guggenheim Foundation to produce a photographic work on America. Frank, the first European to receive this grant, traveled across the vast country, and between 1955 and 1956 he visited 48 different states. The streets, the faces of the people he encountered, the city squares, the bars and shops, the sidewalks, the most insignificant details pass by and linger before the photographer's intelligent and sympathetic lens. The result of this journey was the book "The Americans," with an exceptional introduction by Jack Kerouac.
