扇子 - 手作りのブリュッセルレース - Mother of pearl - エドワード朝

An elegant Edwardian mother-of-pearl, silk and handmade Brussels lace hand fan, dating from circa 1900–1910, opening to an impressive span of approximately 51 cm. The fan is mounted with beautifully iridescent mother-of-pearl guards and sticks of exceptional visual appeal, supporting a delicate cream silk leaf enriched with finely worked handmade Brussels lace featuring floral and scrolling motifs. A silver-toned finger loop set with a faceted rhinestone further enhances its refined appearance. The combination of luminous mother-of-pearl, intricate handmade lace and generous proportions reflects the elegance and sophistication of fashionable Edwardian accessories. Both decorative and functional, the fan displays the craftsmanship and attention to detail associated with high-quality examples produced during the early twentieth century. Retaining all of its original components, this is a complete example presenting particularly well. The shimmering mother-of-pearl and finely executed lacework create an attractive interplay of texture and light, making the fan an appealing collector's piece and display object. Good antique condition. Complete and structurally sound. The mother-of-pearl sticks remain intact, while the silk leaf and lace show light age-related wear and minor imperfections consistent with age. Areas of staining and discolouration are present, mainly to the reverse. Overall, the fan displays exceptionally well. Dimensions: approximately 51 × 27 cm when fully opened.
