Taíno Diorite Idol (Zemí) – 紀元後10世紀〜紀元後15世紀
紀元後10世紀から15世紀にかけての、緻密に彫刻された Taíno の石像ゼミ（zemí）です。像は密度の高い緑がかった灰色の石、推定ダイオライトから成り、Taíno の儀式美術に見られる特有の精神的象徴を備えています。大きなアーモンド形の瞳、穿孔された耳、精巧な幾何学的刻文、そして様式化された人間形の特徴は、後期タイノ時代のグレータ・アンティル諸島の高度な象徴言語を反映しています。こうしたゼミは祖霊および超自然存在の神聖な体現として機能し、儀式行為、社会的権威、そして精神世界との交流において中心的な役割を果たしてきました。作品の両面を覆う広範な刻線装飾は卓越した職人技を示し、硬質石材を彫るタイノのラピダリ―の技量を浮き彫りにします。前コロンブス期のカリブ海石造彫刻の、印象的で非常に装飾性の高い例です。
