記念硬貨はペルー中央銀行（Banco Central de Reserva del Perú）により、ブレーニャ作戦の百周年を記念して発行されたもので、パシフィック戦争の中でも最も注目を浴びたエピソードの一つであるアンドレス・A・カセレス将軍が指揮した戦役を讃える。表面には力強く緻密な表現で描かれたペルー軍人の肖像が、顔立ちと制服のディテールが卓越して描写されているのに対し、裏面には国章が繊細に仕上げられ、月桂樹とヤシの枝が両脇を挟む。個体は元の美しい光沢を保ち、フィールドは良好に保存され、浮き彫りは鮮明であり、MS63 相当の軽微な痕跡のみを示すことから、現代ペルーの記念コインコレクションの堅実で非常に代表的な一品となっている。
