イスラム世界の印章リング – 10世紀から13世紀AD
実質的なブロンズ製の印章リングで、広い多角形の台座に抽象的な直線構成が刻まれており、個人の印章や象徴的な装置として用いられたと考えられます。この指輪は中世イスラム世界の seal リングの特徴的な形を示しており、蝋・粘土・他の柔らかい材料に跡を残すよう設計された平らな刻面を持っています。その堅牢な構造と大きな台座は、実用と装飾の両方の機能を果たしていたことを示唆します。
刻面には何世紀にもわたる取扱いによる広範な経年劣化が見られ、元のデザインはソフトに変化していますが、全体の構図は保持されています。 bronze 表面には暗褐色からオリーブ色の錆びが覆い、指輪の古さと実際の使用を強調します。この種の品は中世イスラム世界全域で、個人の識別子・行政ツール・地位の表現として広く用いられてきました。
