エジプトのウシェブティ（別名シャブティ）の装飾的な人形で、ミイラ化した姿に縦に並ぶヒエログリフの刻印を持っています。この像は、この種の对象の典型的な表現で、かつら、精巧に整えられた顔立ち、胸の前で組まれた腕を特徴としています。手には、来世での使者としてのウシェブティの機能を示す特徴的な農具を握っており、死後の世界における象徴的な従者としての役割を指し示しています。
前面はほぼ全長にわたって縦方向に配置されたヒエログリフの列で覆われています。背面にも別の符号が見られます。表面は古代エジプトのファイアンス作業を意識した青緑がかった色調で、ヒエログリフの凹部は暗く際立たせられ、文字が特に立体的に浮かび上がる作りになっています。
ウシェブティは故人のための墓所の副葬品として添えられ、古代エジプトの信仰に従えば来世で代わりに労働を行うとされていました。その文化史的な重要性から、現在では古代エジプトを代表する最も bekende（注：ここは「よく知られた」）オブジェクト形式のひとつとして知られています。
