Else Lasker-Schüler - Arthur Aronymus. Die Geschichte meines Vaters - 1932-1932

Arthur Aronymus. Die Geschichte meines Vaters – Else Lasker-Schüler Berlin: Rowohlt Verlag, 1932. 72, [4] pages. 18.2cm x 11cm. Softcover with cardboard binding, printed front cover, lettered spine, and a printed dust jacket. First edition of this autobiographical novella by the German-Jewish writer Else Lasker-Schüler. Written just before the Nazi regime took power, it stands as a passionate plea for religious tolerance and reconciliation between Jews and Christians. The illustration on both the cardboard hardcover binding and the dust jacket was drawn by Else Lasker-Schüler herself. The dust jacket is in very good condition and only has some small tears and creasing in the margins, as well as some light browning. Very little bumping and wear to the cardboard covers. Pen markings on the recto of the front free endpaper. Very little browning and spotting throughout. The text is clear, the paper is crisp, and the binding is solid. Overall, a stunning copy in very good condition.
