Ted Benoît (Toulouse, 1947 – 2016) is a French comic artist and illustrator who is internationally recognized as one of the most important representatives of the modern Clear Line (Ligne Claire). He is best known for his albums Berlin 1933 (with Rivière), Histoire d’E, and his work for the Blake & Mortimer series (he drew, among others, The Francis Blake Affair). Benoît is known for his extremely precise, refined linework, cinematic compositions, and a warm, nostalgic atmosphere. His work breathes the classic Franco-Belgian comic tradition (Hergé, Jacobs) but with a modern, mature touch.
