ジェダイトの馬頭像 – ヘレニズム期〜ローマ前期の地方作品、紀元前1世紀から紀元後2世紀
ヘレニズムと早期ローマの影響の下で作られた、地方の豪華品に特徴的な stylized かつ表現的な features を示す、細密に彫られたジェダイトの馬頭像。暗緑色の石に豊富な結晶混入があり、表面は特有のまだら模様を作り出し、視覚的な奥行きを高めている。力強い吻、丸みを帯びた頬、慎重にドリル加工された瞳、そして浮彫りの鬣は、自然主義的ディテールへの職人のこだわりを示しつつ、コンパクトで高度に装飾的な造形を維持している。
