カソアリの骨を刻んだダガーは、20世紀初頭のパプアニューギニアの Abelam 族の工芸技術の一例を表している。もともとは戦争用または狩猟用として使用された these weapons は、 spatules（スパチュラ）や他の道具へと転用され、現地のコミュニティのニーズの変化に合わせて彼らの工芸技術を適応させる能力を示している。
