1888年、瀬戸内海の明石市の海辺に設立された江井ヶ嶋蒸留所は、創業から古い酒造業者の一つである江井ヶ嶋商店が所有しています（創業1679年）。1919年、江井ヶ嶋は日本で初めてウイスキー製造の licence を取得した蒸留所です。1984年までウイスキーの消費は地元のみでした。スコットランド式を基に、蒸留所は30年以上にわたり小ロットで洗練されたウイスキーを造り続けています。ウイスキーの他にも、江井ヶ嶋は日本酒・焼酎などさまざまな酒類の生産で知られています。自らブドウを栽培し、ワインも造っています。Note I Rich – smoky & almond Palate I Well-balanced – peach & toffee Drink neat, with ice or in a cocktail Akashi Blend is the main creation from the Eigashima distillery.
