18カラット金とブラン銀のアールデコ様式の宗教メダル。20世紀前半のフランス製。
この優雅なメダルは、表面に聖母マリアの横顔を幾何学的で端正なスタイルで処理したデザインを特徴とし、アールデコの美学に典型的な要素を示します。 portraitを取り囲む建築的な線が、現代性を強く感じさせつつ、当時の聖母像に共通する柔らかさを保っています。
裏面にはスタイライズされた「JL」の頭文字と日付「22 Juin 42」が刻まれています。彫刻の品質と文字の特に丁寧な描線は、この時期に追求された装飾美の洗練さを物語っています。
メダルは18金と純銀の合金で作られており、金銀を組み合わせる作品のフランス保証刻印が施されています。独特なのは、同じ刻印内に鷲の頭と猪の頭が共に配置されていることで、これが二つの貴金属の存在を公式に証明しています。
