大型グヌンガン・ワヤン・クリット - 100 cm - Leather - Indonesia - 20th century

ジャワのワヤン・クリット影絵人形の伝統から来る、大きくて本物のグヌンガン（別名カヨン、または“生命の樹”）です。水牛皮で作られており、前面には赤、ピンク、金、青、黒の豊かな多色塗装が施されており、中央にはカラーマスク（悪魔の顔）が雲と炎のモチーフに囲まれて配置されています。背面には自然な皮膚色が現れ、細かく刻まれ透孔のあるディテールが描かれています。元の角棒が付属します。美しいパティーナと、年齢と使用に相応しい摩耗が見られます。

Large and authentic gunungan (also known as kayon or “Tree of Life”) from the Javanese wayang kulit shadow puppet tradition. Made from buffalo hide, with rich polychrome painting on the front in red, pink, gold, blue and black, featuring a central kala mask (demonic face) surrounded by cloud and flame motifs. The reverse shows the natural hide color with finely engraved and perforated details. Original horn handle present. Beautiful patina and wear consistent with age and use.
