ラクシャサの悪魔を題材にしたワヤン・クリットの皮影人形2体 - Leather - Indonesia - 20th century

二体の大きく本物のワヤン・クティル影絵人形の組み合わせで、それぞれラカサ（悪魔の巨人）を描いており、おそらくラーマーヤナ伝統に由来する。水牛の皮を材料とし、赤・青・金・緑・黒の豊かな多色塗装。両像とも特徴的な悪魔的顔立ちで、突き出た目、鋭い歯、そして華麗な頭飾りを備える。可動する腕、元の棒が付属。年季と使用感にふさわしい美しいパティーナ。

A matched pair of large authentic wayang kulit shadow puppets, each depicting a raksasa (demon giant), likely from the Ramayana tradition. Made from buffalo hide with rich polychrome painting in red, blue, gold, green and black. Both figures feature characteristic demonic faces with bulging eyes, prominent teeth and elaborate headdresses. Articulated arms, original rods present. Beautiful patina consistent with age and use.
