中央サハラ地方出自の正真正銘のタクーバ・トゥアレグのサーベルを、元の鞣し革で覆われた赤い鞘と伝統的な携帯用ストラップと共に紹介します。
全体は、長さ79 cmの直刃を特徴とする二重刃の刃身で、縦溝と彫刻模様が施されています。握りは濃い茶色の革で完全に覆われ、ニジェールとマリのトゥアレグ生産を特徴づける層状の円錐形鍔が際立ちます。
赤革の鞘は幾何学模様の型押しで豊かに装飾され、金属部品と使用の痕跡が年代を感じさせる自然な風合いを見せます。元の織物製携帯ストラップも保存されています。
全体の経年風合い、製作技術と用いられた材料は、20世紀初頭の生産を示唆します。
