Description from the seller

Olympus Six + Olympus Zuiko F.C. 7.5cm 1:3.5 — Classic Late-1940s Working Medium-Format Folding Camera, 6×6 / 4.5×6 Dual Format, No Battery Required

A working Olympus Six — a beautifully made Japanese 120 medium-format folding camera from the late 1940s, fitted with the highly regarded Olympus Zuiko F.C. (Tessar-derived 4-element, fully coated) 7.5cm f/3.5 lens and a Copal leaf shutter. Manufactured by Olympus and produced in the late 1940s, the Olympus Six is a historically important predecessor of the Olympus Chrome Six series. It uses standard 120 roll film and allows the photographer to choose between two negative formats: 6×6 (12 exposures) or 4.5×6 (16 exposures) — a flexible feature popular with Japanese medium-format folders of this era. A true mechanical classic that requires NO BATTERY whatsoever and is ready to load with film and shoot today.

Including:
- Camera body (Olympus Six)
- Fixed Olympus Zuiko F.C. 7.5cm 1:3.5 lens (built-in)
(No battery required — this camera is fully mechanical and has no electronic components)

Appearance:
Vintage cosmetic wear consistent with age (late-1940s camera). Some patina and small spots on the chrome top plate; the leatherette body covering is intact with no peeling. The bellows appear intact in the photos. Viewfinder window is clear. No major dents or serious damage.

Function:
120 roll-film medium-format folding camera with Copal leaf shutter (B, 1 s – 1/200 s), folding optical viewfinder, front-cell focusing, dual-format film mask (6×6 / 4.5×6 selectable on the back door), film-type memo dial on the top plate (PAN / COLOR / ORTHO / EMPTY — a manual reminder dial, NOT an exposure meter), and mechanical shutter release.

Confirmed during inspection:
- Shutter: fires correctly
- Film advance knob: operates
- Folding mechanism: opens and closes correctly
- Bellows: appear intact (please refer to the photos)

Other features (shutter release, shutter speed ring, aperture ring f/3.5 – f/22, focus ring, film-type memo dial, format-mask selector on the back door) are present on the camera. Please refer to the photos for the exact condition.

No battery is required for any function of this camera. The Olympus Six is a fully mechanical medium-format folder with no light meter and no electronic components — a major advantage for vintage shooters who want to avoid hunting for discontinued battery types.

Optical system (lens):
Olympus Zuiko F.C. 7.5cm 1:3.5 — a fully-coated four-element (Tessar-derived) Olympus lens widely praised for its sharpness and pleasing image rendering, considered one of the finest medium-format folder lenses of its era and the same lens design also used on the legendary Mamiya Six folding cameras of the same period. Please refer to the photos for the exact condition of the optics.

Shutter / film chamber:
The Copal leaf shutter blades appear clean. The film chamber, pressure plate, and bellows are clean overall.

Notes:
The Olympus Six is historically significant as one of Olympus's earliest post-war medium-format cameras and a direct predecessor of the Chrome Six series. A genuine late-1940s mechanical Japanese medium-format folder with a 4-element f/3.5 fully-coated lens, ready to use with widely available 120 roll film and without sourcing any specialized batteries. Please refer to the photos for the exact condition. As this is a late-1940s camera, occasional servicing (CLA) is recommended for long-term reliable use.
