フェニキア＝キプロス系の女性像（紀元前8世紀〜紀元前6世紀）
非常に稀少なフェニキア＝キプロス系のテラコッタ製女性像。風格のある立像で、強調された胸部、長い胴体、頭部を支える円柱状の首が特徴的です。頭部は現在欠損しています。本像は、初期のキプロス系・フェニキア系コロポラポリック技法に典型的な、非常に概略的な表現で作られており、繁殖・保護・宗教的象徴性が、単純でありながら力強い形態を通じて表現されています。体に組み込まれたオープンワークの穿孔と慎重に balancedなプロポーションは、純粋な装飾目的というよりも儀式的な機能を示唆します。
この種の像は、フェニキア＝キプロス系宗教美術の最も recognizable expression のひとつとみなされ、繁殖崇拝、家庭崇拝、あるいは聖域に安置された奉献品に関連付けられていたと考えられています。現存する例は、元の形状と独特の浮彫的なシルエットを保持している場合を除いて、後の古典期のテラコッタよりもはるかに希少です。 primitive な美感と、強い考古学的性格と古代の表層を併せ持つため、東地中海のテラコッタ美術として特に希少で望ましい例となっています。
