Description from the seller
Leela is a Spanish photographer based in Barcelona, the city she calls home. Her artistic name, Leela, was bestowed upon her in India and reflects a sensibility that continues to shape her artistic vision—one rooted in contemplation, connection, and the search for meaning beyond appearances.
This photograph is part of Universal, a project developed in collaboration with Cobalto Studio. Conceived as an exploration of the shared essence that underlies all forms of life, the series draws inspiration from poetry as a parallel language to photography. For Leela, both mediums possess the ability to evoke rather than describe, inviting the viewer into a space where emotion, memory, and imagination converge.
The present work depicts a mimosa at night, revealed through an atmosphere of quiet mystery and luminous delicacy. Fascinated by the expressive nature of flowers and their subtle energetic qualities, Leela approaches the botanical world as a source of visual poetry. Light, shadow, and form become verses within the image, transforming a fleeting moment into a contemplative experience.
Rather than documenting nature, Leela seeks to translate its presence into a poetic visual language. In this sense, Universal stands as an ongoing dialogue between photography and poetry—two mediums united by their capacity to suggest the invisible, illuminate the ephemeral, and reveal deeper connections between the inner and outer worlds.
Each image in Universal unfolds like a poem: subtle, contemplative, and open to personal interpretation.
