**What Is an Archival Pigment Print?**
Archival prints are museum-quality pieces that use refined particles of pigment to create beautiful, high-resolution finished artwork. As its name suggests, this method of printing creates artwork designed to last a long time. Two key elements play a role in the lifespan of an archival pigment print—the ink and the paper.
Artist
Michal Korta is an award-winning portrait and documentary photographer who collaborates with the galleries, press, publishers, and agencies. Since 2006, he has worked on personal projects across Central Asia, the USA, Israel, Africa, and the Balkans. His work has been showcased in exhibitions internationally, including Italy, Israel, Poland, Spain, Germany, and the UK, and is part of numerous private and institutional collections. He is the author of three photo books, one of which, Balkan Playground, was nominated for the best photo books in Poland in 2018. Korta also lectures on photography in Poland and Switzerland.
Blending portraits with landscapes shaped by human activity, Korta seeks to uncover deeper layers of reality. His projects often explore themes such as cultural, social, or gender identity, territorial boundaries, and the role of chance. Occasionally, he also creates art nude photographs, for which he has won numerous prizes. In 2016, Art Verseed recognized him as one of the five Eastern European photographers to know.
