Victorian rectangular wooden chest in black lacquer, with an inlaid shield-shaped cartouche on the lid, interior veneered in flame walnut with a hinged inner panel, brass lock and hinges, key and inlay fragment absent, dimensions 30 cm wide × 11.5 cm deep × 8.5 cm high, made in the United Kingdom circa 1850–1900, in good condition with minor signs of age and spots.
