刺繍 - 100 cm - 82.5 cm - ミャオ族のベビーキャリア (No reserve price)

雲南省南部、中国の少数民族ミャオ族の delicate hand-embroidered main panel of a baby carrier from the Miao, an ethnic minority in Yunnan, Southern China. This original piece, carried out in various reds, purples and black, is rimmed with a soft, raw-silk border. It is 78 cm long (31 inch) and 61 cm wide (24 inch), at the top, where the head of the baby would be. It would be slung on the back, and tied with long straps, since removed, to carry the baby whilst walking, working in the fields or at any other times away from the house.

The piece is in good condition, with some wear at the right-side border. It comes mounted in a custom-made black wooden frame, 100 x 82,5 cm (40 x 32.5 inch). It can be dispatched with, or without frame (cost of postage assumes no frame)
