Description from the seller
GENERAL:
Offered for sale is this beautiful 1987 Porsche 911 3.2 Cabriolet, equipped with the highly desirable G50 5-speed manual gearbox. Introduced for this specific model year, the G50 transmission is well known among enthusiasts for its precise shifting, robust construction, and significantly improved driving feel compared to the earlier 915 gearbox. This makes the 1987 model year particularly sought after by collectors of classic air-cooled Porsches. The car has a Dutch registration and is ready to be viewed in our showroom.
BODYWORK & PAINT:
This 911 Cabriolet features a timeless design and is in very beautiful condition. The convertible soft-top is in very good condition. A special and unique detail is that this Porsche was factory-delivered with original 16-inch forged Fuchs alloy wheels painted in 'Grand Prix White'. This distinctive factory option gives the car a highly recognizable and characterful appearance.
TECHNICAL:
The car is powered by the legendary 3.2-litre air-cooled flat-six engine producing 217 hp, paired with the desirable manual G50 transmission. This generation of the Porsche 911 is highly regarded for its bulletproof mechanical reliability and pure driving experience.
Over the past year, extensive maintenance has been carried out on the car, with an investment of more than €14,000. Recent technical work includes:
* Brand new brakes all around (including new brake discs and brake pads).
* Fully rebuilt brake calipers.
* Configuration to European specifications.
* New injectors and a new pedal box.
* Rebuilt alternator (dynamo) and starter motor.
* New tires all around.
INTERIOR:
The interior has been completely retrimmed over the past year in premium blue leather and is in absolute top condition. The blue leather gives the car a fresh, elegant appearance and combines beautifully with the rest of the specifications. Furthermore, the Porsche is comfortably equipped with electric windows, air conditioning, automatic heating control, and cruise control.
DOCUMENTS:
The Porsche comes with a Dutch registration. Crucial for collectors and enthusiasts: a official Porsche Birth Certificate is present with the car. This document confirms that this is a fully matching numbers example (original engine and transmission).
COLLECTION:
The car is available for viewing and a test drive at our showroom. Please feel free to contact us through Catawiki to arrange an appointment. If required, we can assist with worldwide shipping; please ask us about our very favorable delivery and transport conditions.
OTHER INFORMATION:
In short, this is an exceptionally interesting 1987 Porsche 911 3.2 Cabriolet with the iconic G50 gearbox. Thanks to the recent technical investments of over €14,000, the freshly retrimmed blue leather interior, the Porsche Birth Certificate, and its unique factory specifications (including the rare Grand Prix White Fuchs wheels and a factory Blaupunkt radio), this is a distinctive example of the classic air-cooled 911. Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
