この鋳造ブロンズ花瓶は、富山県高岡市の伝統的金属工芸「高岡銅器（Takaoka Copperware）」の優れた例です。400年以上の歴史を持つ高岡銅器は、1975年に日本初の伝統的工芸品に指定され、現在では国内の銅製品生産の90％以上を占めています。本体には、双鳳の浮彫を細密に表現した意匠が施されており、取っ手の両側にも同様のモチーフが配され、伝統的な高岡の浮彫鋳造の正確さがうかがえます。表面には深緑から茶色へと移ろう豊かな大理石状のパティーナが施され、品のある層状の色彩深さを生み出しています。重量感と存在感があり、花瓶としての実用性はもちろん、静かに威厳を放つ室内飾りとしても最適です。
