優美な白磁の花瓶を描く、著名な有田窯の陶工・藤井朱明（1936–2017）の静かな佇まい。穏やかな水流を抜けて泳ぐ stylized fish（スタイライズド・フィッシュ）を、巧みに彫刻した逸品です。
涙滴のシルエットは完璧な白磁で表現され、低浮彫彫刻（妖刻）によって水中を滑る魚のリズムが生き生きと刻まれています。彫られた魚は、凹所のラインに淡く釉が溜まり、静かな動きを感じさせます。作品には署名入りの友箱（オリジナル木箱）が付属し、由来を直接藤井窯から証明しています。
藤井朱明は、白磁の現代的造形感覚を磨き上げた新染課の作家として評価され、ニューヨークの Joan B. Mirviss や 大一美術をはじめとする主要ギャラリーに作品が所蔵され、Chiswick Auctions や Heritage Auctions にも出品されています。
