花菊ではなくひなげしの花の頭部の形をした、上品な古代エジプトの銀製アミュレット。アミュレットには長い円筒形の首部があり、吊り下げ用の輪が頂部に付く。アミュレットの本体は球形で、丸く平らな台座の上に座している。表面には僅かな付着物と変色が見られる。年相応の軽い擦れや凹みなど、僅かな摩耗。
ひなげしまたはアザミのアミュレットは、癒しと痛みの緩和を象徴した。アザミはエジプト全土に見られたが、特にナイル川周辺で多く見られた。それらはむいて煮出して利用されたと考えられており、世界の一部では肝疾患の漢方的治療としてアザミが用いられていた。もしこのアミュレットがひなげしを象徴するものと意図されているなら、象徴的な意味を保持している。実際、古代世界にもひなげしからモルヒネが抽出されたという証拠がある。
