Corto Malteseは、冒険とファンタジーの漫画シリーズで、キャラクターのCorto Malteseにちなんで名付けられました。航海好きの冒険家の船長です。1967年にイタリアの漫画家Hugo Prattによって創作されました。これらの漫画は、これまでに書かれた中で最も芸術的で文学性の高いグラフィックノベルのひとつとして高く評価され、数多くの言語に翻訳され、いくつかのアニメ映画にも改作されています。
シリーズには、20世紀初頭を舞台に活躍する謎めいた海の船長、Corto Malteseが登場します。1887年7月10日、マルタ島のヴァレッタ生まれ。コーンウォール出身の船乗りの息子で、セビリア出身のジプシーの家系です。
