テイノ族。（大アンティル諸島）
木製。高さ約50 cm
幻覚性の粉末を浸透させるとされる浄化を目的として用いられるとされる、いわゆる「vomitive」と呼ばれるスパチュラ。儀式の際に粉末が吸収されるコホバの儀式の過程で用いられる。
楽器の「刃部」は、先端の一方がわずかに湾曲・丸みを帯び、反対側には人物が座って膝を抱える形に彫刻された把手で終わっている。この種の像はジエミ（zemi）と呼ばれ、崇拝される霊の形を表し、ほとんどすべての祭具に描かれているとされる。ジエミの足元には、象徴的と考えられる模様をあしらった帯が現れる。表面の小さな傷。
同じタイプの別の品と比べるべきもので、1990年12月10日にマイストル・ルードメールが主催した販売のカタログに、番号268として再現されているものと近接して参照される。Cf: - Frederick J. Dockstader: 「Indian art in Middle America」ニューヨーク・Graphic Society (1964) 図版191-208。 - J.V.
