Ancient Roman terracotta oil lamp, Plain Oil Lamp, Loeschcke type VIII, circa 1st–2nd century AD, circular body with a slightly concave discus, one filling hole, a smaller air hole, a rounded nozzle with a circular wick-hole, a single back handle now blocked, and a plain concave base; about 9 cm long by 6.5 cm wide; provenance private collection, acquired 2000 from an old German collection, previously owned since 1990.
