A large cabinet specimen featuring dark Sphalerite crystals and bright Pyrite cubes on a dense bed of clear to white needle Quartz, from Peru; dimensions 26 cm high, 18 cm wide, 15 cm deep; weight about 6.5 kg.
Description from the seller
壮観で大型の cabinet ミュージアム標本。 dark, highly lustrous Sphalerite crystal groups と bright, metallic Pyrite cubes を展示しています。
These sulfide minerals are richly scattered across a dense, highly chaotic matrix completely covered in clear to white, needle-like Quartz crystal sprays.
This impressive mineral slab features an intricate and highly aesthetic associations of sulfide and silicate minerals.
The entire face of the host rock is blanketed by a heavy growth of slender, prismatic Quartz crystals.
These needle-like points create a stark, bright white background that elevates the visual impact of the darker minerals resting upon them.
Interspersed across the quartz bed are highly distinct, well-crystallized clusters of complex Sphalerite (zinc sulfide).
The sphalerite crystals exhibit a deep, metallic dark-grey to near-black color with a glassy to sub-metallic luster that sparkles intensely under direct light.
Alongside the sphalerite are bright patches of golden, brassy Pyrite (iron sulfide) in sharp, cubic, and pyritohedral crystal formations.
The contrast between the needle quartz, dark sphalerite, and golden pyrite creates a fascinating, textured mineral landscape.
This specimen features a rugged, natural back matrix, allowing it to lay beautifully as a flat display piece or be propped up as an exceptional centerpiece for a mineral display cabinet.
